So this years 2014 Grammys was.... interesting. From broomtwerking, lampshades, and crippled cowgirls; I think they had it covered. Here is what went on in my head (a scary place) while watching this years Grammys with my Spirit Animal.
Did he do it for attention, or did he do it because he thought it looked cool? I am going to go with the latter of the two. Pharell has been named best dressed man several times, but this is quite confusing to me. Being that he is an Aries, I HIGHLY doubt he gives a rats ass what people thought of his
Smokey the Bear Arby's state trooper hat. Regardless, his performance with Daft Punk was sick and he won Producer of the Year. Not too shabby... even if that hat is.
Best New Artist
Gemini Macklemore took the Grammys by storm winning a total of 4 Grammys from two of the biggest categories - Best New Artist & Best Rap Song. What is SO Gemini about this guy is that his album has goofy and fun songs on it like "Thrift Shop", but also had serious and nationally effective songs like "Same Love". Can't wait to see what is going to come next from this awesome guy.
This was the best performance of the entire night... hands down. Kendrick Lamar and lead singer of the Imagine Dragons Dan Reynolds (both Cancers) teamed up on this collaboration. I was literally almost out of my seat until Taylor Swift ruined it for me. Had I been there I would have taken a stick to the back of her knees. And I digress... It was an INCREDIBLE performance! All that Cancer emotion definitely came out in both of these guys.
Crippled Cowgirl & Lamp Shade
I was really enjoying Macklemore's performance with Queen Latifah and Mary Lambert until
crippled cowgirl Madonna walked out and had to make it about her. Classic Leo move. Don't get me wrong, I love Madonna but it's time to bow out gracefully. Bye byeeee.
Did anyone tell her that her skirt looked like a lamp shade? I am going to guess no. I am not a huge country fan, but I became a fan of Leo lady Kacey Musgraves last night when she beat Taylor Swift in two categories. YESSSSSSSSS. Suck it T-Swift.
Oh Beyonce, why you gotta be so perfect all the damn time? She showed off her amazing body in this VERY VIRGO cream lace embroidered gown by Michael Costello. The performance was... interesting. I liked it better once her man got out there because they are just so cute together. NOT a fan of the wet dog hair though. Very very confused by the hair.
Pink (also a Virgo) wore this red dress, and I have to say I am not a crazy fan of
her the dress. She even admitted herself that she rarely wears this color, and I can see why. It just doesn't suit her Virgoesque personality at all.
I didn't mind her performance too much. Takes a lot of talent to be a
wanna be Cirque du Soleil performer. I just want to see her do something else than fly around from the ceiling. I know it's her thing, but I am over it. NEEEEEEEEEEXT...
Love this Charmer
What is not to love about this guy? He is a little guy with a HUGE voice. I thought he should have won a lot more, but he was in some really tough categories. He did win Best Pop Vocal album which is nothing to be scoffed at!
Broomtwerking & Seizures
My Scorpio Sisters kept it awfully dark this year! I don't think Katy Perry could have picked a more Scorpio inspired dress than this Valentino Couture she changed into after
her epic fail Broomtwerk performance. All the way from the color, to the serpent, screams Scorpio. Love it.
This performance however had me laughing my ass off. I seriously was
hoping waiting for one of those brooms to break in in half. I LOVE THIS SONG, but this performance was dumb. From the weird ass horse all the way to her cheesy costumes, everything just blew.
Lorde was one of the big winners this year taking away Grammys in some of the hardest categories like Song of the Year. I mean who doesn't like the song Royals? I was really excited to see her perform until I became genuinely concerned when she started convulsing. Did anyone else think she was having a seizure? She also looked like she was having a pretty hard time with those speeches she had to give. She is definitely Ozzy Osbourne and Elvira's love child. 'Nuff said...
Gold Sippy Cup
Not did he just get one gold sippy cup for baby Blue, he got 3. I loved his shout out to Beyonce and Blue last night, and his performance was great as well. This whole "retirement" thing worked out well for you Jay.
Taylor Swift is a Sagittarius, but she annoyed me so much that she doesn't deserve a picture. Go head bang with your piano some more. Over you.
Capricorn & Aquarius
Robot Takeover & Bawl Fest
These guys cleaned house last night. They won BOTH Record of the Year and Album of the Year. This French duo Christo (Aquarius) and Bangalter (Capricorn) combine the quirkiness and futuristic feel that you get with an Aquarian, and then combine it with the hard working practicality of a Capricorn. Together they made a sound and an album that no one has ever heard before. There is something so familiar, yet so brand new about it.
Capricorn John Legend sang his heart out to his wife Chrissy Teigan last night (huge fan of both of them), and I bawled. If you watched him sing this and didn't get a tear in your eye, I am pretty sure you have no soul. It was such a beautiful performance, and I LOVED that the camera caught her lovingly admiring him. They are both so lucky to have each other. What a voice, what a talent, what a man!
I like Robin Thicke, but this performance was a snooze fest. It was like he was performing at a wedding reception. Booooorinngggggg. Where's Miley when you need her?
