Traditional Associations with Capricorn

 Black Onyx

Color Associated with Capricorn -Black and Gray
The meaning of the color black is mystery and protection.  The color gray is the color of detachment, indecision and compromise.

Food Associated with Capricorn -  Meat, potato, barley, beet, and spinach.
Capricorn is an earth sign, and eating a beet tastes like you are eating the earth.  They are so rich in vitamins and nutrients that help cleanse the body of any toxins.  They also give one energy to help climb the heights that the Capricorn does.

Gem Associated with Capricorn - Amethyst
Ancient Egyptians used the amethyst guard against guilty and fearful feelings. It has been worn as protection from self-deception, and it is also used as a meditation aid.  The amethyst symbolizes piety, humility, sincerity and spiritual wisdom.

Tree Associates with Capricorn - Pine
Pine tree symbolism includes creativity, life, longevity and immortality. Pine trees are recognizable by both their needle-like leaves and cones. They are commercially among the most important of species used for timber and wood pulp in temperate and tropical regions of the world.

Flower Associated with Capricorn - Pansy
The Pansy's name means "thought".  It is used in Celtic culture to symbolize free thought and to be thinking of love. Their petals are used by them to create a love potion.  I'm not sure if it's number 9.

Animal Associated with Capricorn - Goats
The goat is a tough and independent creature.  Mountain goats go for days climbing over dangerous touraine to get to their destination.  They are definitely known as tough creatures that are headstrong.  They love making it to great heights, which symbolizes progress and achievement.

Country Associated with Capricorn - India
India is ancient and has beautiful history.  Their art, religion, music, and food separates them from the world.  They are spiritual and thoughtful in the way they go about life.  The stories and architecture will always be remembered.  One of my favorite was the story of the Taj Mahal.  The emporer's wife died during child birth.  He was so devastated that he decided to build her the most beautiful palace ever seen encrusted in jewels and gold.  This is what he stated after he saw the Taj Mahal completed;

 "Should guilty seek asylum here,
Like one pardoned, he becomes free from sin.
Should a sinner make his way to this mansion,
All his past sins are to be washed away.
The sight of this mansion creates sorrowing sighs;
And the sun and the moon shed tears from their eyes.
In this world this edifice has been made;
To display thereby the creator's glory."
